Today I read an article that talked about how Colorado is the epicenter for things to do and places to see. We are busy all year round whether it be with hiking and camping in the summer or skiing and snowboarding in the winter. That’s what I love about Colorado.

Someone asked me recently if I ever saw myself moving away from Colorado, and I said “sure, I just have to find a place I like as much.” See, that’s the challenge. In what other state could I bike to yoga one day and tour ghost filled bars the next?

1. Bike-In Food Trucks on the Farm in Fort Collins

Hope Farms is hosting an event in which patrons ride their bike to the farm to enjoy some food, beer, yoga, live bluegrass, and learn about farming practices. All of the proceeds made will go to the Growing Project that Hope Farms puts on. Food trucks like Umami will be there, which happens to be my favorite. Be sure to hop in line and ask Vanessa for their pot stickers.

*Note that there will be no on-site parking (thus why it’s a ride-in), and there is no fee to get into the event.*

  • Happening: Thursday, August 18th
  • When: 5 PM – 8 PM
  • Where: Hope Farms, 1601 N. Shields, Ft Collins, CO

2. Late Summer Lavender at Pinot’s Palette in Fort Collins

I have mentioned these painting parties in previous posts, but this one stood out. The cool thing about these art events is that every week they have new themes to paint. This week’s theme is lavender. Painting is a great past time, and this place is pretty neat in the sense that it lets you do it socially. Tickets are affordable and make for a good Friday night out. They supply everything that you could ever need, including the wine.

  • Happening: Friday, August 19th
  • When: Event starts at 7 PM
  • Where: Pinot’s Palette, 159 West Mountain Avenue, Ft Collins, CO

3. The Speakeasies and Spirits Tour of Old Town in Fort Collins

This is a little bit out there, but looks like a ton of fun! I have always wanted to know a little more about Fort Collins history, and this is an excellent opportunity to do that with your friends! This week they are doing a tour on Saturday, and the great thing about this is that the tour is very reasonably priced. “Tours last two to three hours and visit several stops that may include breweries, distilleries, cideries, back alley taverns, raucous pubs and even underground speakeasies!”-Fort Collins Tours

  • Happening: Saturday, August 20th
  • When: Tour starts at 3:30 PM
  • Where: Tours start in Old Town Square, check in with tour guide

4. Salsa Dancing Lessons in Greeley

I am probably the world worst dancer, but it doesn’t stop me! Granted most of the dancing I do is in my car… but this activity gets you dancing in public! It takes place at the Joe Molina Gallery and Studios and is a five dollar entry fee. “Salsa lessons will begin at 7 pm and last for one hour.  Dancing continues until 11 pm.” -Joe Molina Studio

  • Happening: Friday, August 19th
  • When: 7:00 PM11:00 PM
  • Where: Joe Molina Gallery and Studios, 930 8th Avenue, Greeley, CO

5. Nature Photography in Greeley

Photography is a fun hobby, but can be hard to learn. This activity takes place the 3rd Thursday of every month and is guided by a local photographer who will show you the ropes of photography. Bring your camera and get some good shots! All ages are welcome and to make this even better, it’s a donation based event!

  • Happening: Thursday, August 18th
  • When: 6:00 PM7:00 PM
  • Where: Poudre Learning Center, 8313 W F St, Greeley, CO

With that, I hope some of you can attend these activities and events, and feel free to share experiences from any of the events that you attend! As always I hope everyone has a great rest of your week and I’ll see you guys next week!
