Milliken’s annual town fair, Beef ‘n Bean Day, is this weekend on August 12, 2017. The event is all day, litteraly, ALL DAY.
There is so much you can do, so how do you do it all? Easy, follow these tips!
Front Range Fire Rescue hosts breakfast IN the firehouse in Milliken, CO. They start prepping at 4 am and start serving at 5. This all you can eat breakfast is $6 for adults, $5 for Seniors and $4 for kids 12 and under. Come early so you can eat and get a great spot for the parade!
Find your parade spot early!
Roads will be shut down for the parade, so make sure you scope out the best spot for the parade the day before! This is a great way to see who the community leaders are, what businesses are in town and a great way to get the day going! Here is a link to the parade map.
Make sure you have the essentials.
The event takes place outside. So have your sunscreen and bug spray handy. In case you forget, The Ferguson Team will have some at their booth (which is also collecting school supplies!). There is a water zone with a giant water slide and a FREE Fun Zone with other fun things to do. Swimsuits and towels are probably something else you should bring with you. Food and drinks? You’re covered. The Milliken Events Committee has brought in food trucks to take care of your food and beverage needs!
Bring some cash.
The town’s event committee has brought in nearly 100 vendors you can shop from. However, some vendors may not be able to accept credit/debit cards. Having cash will make it easy to purchase items and leave tips. Also, there is a beer garden, so make sure you have your ID!
Checkout the website.
Seriously, go checkout Beef ‘n Bean Day’s website! There you will find the schedule for all of the events. There’s a lot to do! Skate Jam (a skate race at the Skate Park), water balloon and water melon contests, vendors, the parade, FREE fun zone, live music, a beer garden and a sand castle contest. The schedule will also be found at the Town of Milliken’s booth and the main stage! Don’t forget to stick around for the fireworks at 9:00 pm.
If you’re interested in participating in any of the events, email the Events Committee. The sand castle competition is already full.
Come say hi to The Ferguson Team!
We have a booth at the big event! Our booth is across from the Town of Milliken’s booth. We are collecting school supplies and cash donations for the schools in Milliken. Mark Ferguson will match the donations up to $200! We will also have corn hole, sunscreen and bug spray!
Did someone say FREE dinner?
There are 450 free dinners that will be handed out starting at 4:00 pm. Get in line early–the dinners go fast!
Stay for the fireworks.
The fireworks start about 9:00pm. They’ll be shot off south of Lola Park over the alfalfa fields. So make sure you get a good spot between the trees.
Let us know if we missed anything and don’t forget to stop by our booth and say hi!
